Everything started before life when continental shift separated continents. During the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras, about 270 million years ago, all the continents were united into a vast supercontinent. Pangaea broke into two super continental masses after 70 million years. The continents then began to split apart in the later Mesozoic era about 100 million years ago, which are the position where each continent is located right now. New York is located on the continent of North America. The resource that New York is famous for is water source, it is one of the natural resources that New York has. Hudson and East River are examples from Manhattan that gives New York the ability to transport things easily by shipping; because of that Manhattan has the ability to become a trading center, which develops some of the basic economic traits. Twenty-three countries that contain different regions and cultures make up North America, which gives New York the chance to interact with people from different places. There are three common languages in North America that are English, Spanish, and French. These languages later affect New York in both good and bad ways when human started to settle down.
