After the continents were formed, it still took a while until human actually exists. Humans are developed from the complexity of life that involves chemical compounds like RNA and DNA. Reproduction developed the ability to pass DNA to the next generation. Through reproduction, humans are slowly developed from chimpanzees after a long time. After humans exist, early humans started to explore the continents that was formed and settled down in the places that they found. The First settlement in New York was Lenape, an Algonquin people. They settled down by living with natural sources in New York, included hunting, fishing and farming. The geography there gave people a way to start their life. Rivers and lakes provided them foods like fish. In the beginning of the 16th century, the Europeans found New York and were amazed by its natural resources and fur trade. The Dutch West India Company heard this good news and followed after to seek for trading opportunities in 1626, and this was the time when African slaves were first brought to New York.

These new settlements gave New York opportunities to make money by trading, but also made it more complex by introducing guns to them. People there started to kill animals by gun and destroyed the balance of natural. The British then came during the 18th century. The population grew larger, and more diverse as the British people moved in. More immigrants from Netherlands, England, France, and Germany moved to New York for industries and trading, because of that many African slaves were brought to New York.
